I'm a multi-published, best-selling author of Inspirational Adventure Romances normally set on the historical high seas. I spent my early years on the Florida coast, dreaming of adventures at sea with swashbuckling heros! By age 15, I had a thousand stories swirling about in my head, but I never thought I could ever get published, so I took a different path. One that led me far away from my destiny and from the God who created me. I got a degree in Math and Computer Science and spent twenty years working at a career I hated. Still I wrote in my spare time. I couldn't do otherwise. It was who God made me to be. After years of searching for meaning and after making a mess of my life, I finally came to my senses like the prodigal in the pigpen and gave my life, my all, to the living God. Since then, miracle after miracle has happened! And one of the biggest miracles of all was that God told me to write a book about pirates, so I did. And then He got me published. It's been a wild ride ever since!
The purpose of my blog is to encourage the children of God as they journey the path of life toward eternity. So, climb on board, stay awhile, enjoy the sunshine and the sea spray and relax. I hope you'll find the voyage interesting and come back often!

I love the font you used to "sign" your name! Looks exactly like something out of a captain's log.
ReplyDeleteI love that you love sailing ships and God as well. What an awesome combination. I love the high seas as well being a former sailor in the U.S. Navy but more so for the 18th and 19th century sailing. Keep spreading God's light and posting cool stuff about sailing ships. God bless you and Fair winds and following seas lass!
ReplyDeleteThanks Craigg! It's nice to meet another tall ship enthusiast and God-lover! My step-daughter is currently in the Navy. She just graduated from the Academy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your service! And thanks for dropping by my blog! As you can see this week we are celebrating Talk like a pirate day, which was Monday in case you didn't know. :-)
God Bless you and yours too! And may your horizon be clear and your sails be full!
My name is Charles Mayner. I am someone, who recently rededicated my life, to the Lord. My life is so much better. I began attending a different church. The Spirit of God permeates the air!
ReplyDeleteHi Charles! So you know just how I felt when turned back to God! The best feeling in the world!! I felt like I'd been wallowing in the mud for years and years, accomplishing nothing but making a huge mess. Then God picked me up, cleaned me off, and gave me purpose. And most of all Love. I'm so glad to hear you came back to Him as well. His loving kindness is better than life. :-) Thank you for stopping by. You brought a huge smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteHi Marylu,
ReplyDeleteHow did you know God wanted/told you to write a pirate book? I myself love pirates and ships and sailing and 17th-18th century stuff. And I love writing. (I'm writing a pirate series called the Remmington Pirates Saga filled adventure, romance, twists and a hint of fantasy). Your books and your blogs about how you do writing work have been most encouraging and helpful. Thank you SO MUCH!! You are a blessing from God. I feel you have been my teacher in writing without actually having met you, so thank you putting yourself out there!
I pray you contintue to write and inspire, all the while staying close to our Heavenly Father, Who guides our walks, every step of the way (or our sails, every wave/tide/wind of the way).
God bless!
Hannah
Hi Hannah! I'm so glad that my posts on writing have helped you! Your Remmington Pirates Saga sounds fabulous! How did I know God wanted me to write a pirate book? If I say I heard Him tell me, will you think I'm crazy? Not in an audible voice, but inside me. Over and over.. the words and then the pull, the strong desire to write one until I sat down and started it. Mind you, I hadn't written anything in years and was working full time at the time and had a husband and 6 kids to take care of. So, it's not like I had the time to write. But I kept feeling the pull inside me.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your prayers... may our Father bless your writing as well and grant you fair winds and a clear horizon!
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I have this strong pull and desire to write it till the end.
Again thank you!
God bless you with high seas adventures! ;)
Hannah
I have recently read two of your books and they have been such a blessing. I am a Christian mother who has fought and prayed all of my life for a better life for my mentally ill son. At times I become quite discouraged, feel defeated, deeply saddened by his struggles. As I read each of these books, the Lord ministered to me in just the way I needed it at the time through the scriptures contained in the books. It's like they jumped out and touched my soul. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteI have been a lover of the Lord for almost 20 years and still struggle with earthly things. I too have a child with massive problems and need the ministry of the Lord to get through each day. Depression looms on the horizon like an enemy ship, and my guns are not always at the ready.
DeleteAnonymous, thank you so much for your note. It's words like yours that keep me going in this crazy writing business.... just knowing that God is using me to help someone out there is all I need to keep writing. I'm so sorry about your son. I can't imagine how difficult that must be. I don't know you.. or even your name but I'm lifting up a prayer for you now. God bless!
ReplyDeletePatricia Forrest this is very interesting, i'm searching meaning for my life as well. I am who God says i am. It was who God made me to be. He made me to be seated in the heavenlies, thank God through Jesus Christ he did. I'm thankful and grateful to be a part of God's family. May God continue to bless you.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Patricia! It's so wonderful to be adopted into God's family, isn't it? We are so loved and valued and we are never alone.
